Artist Statement: 

I am an artist who works primarily with light and latex in an installation context, creating interesting alien-like environments which are unnerving and warped yet extremely personal and familiar. My influences stem from childhood when I was introduced to the Sci-Fi genre with films such as War of the Worlds (1953) and Doctor Who and the Daleks (1965) planting the desire for adventure, exploration and danger and as a result of growing older the perspective of this has gradually become darker in context, looking more towards the fragility and insignificance of the human race. That at any moment we could encounter a being or force far greater than our own.

Sticking to a very personal, almost biographical nature to my work, however now focusing on influences and interests as opposed to personal issues and turmoil, as a result you could say this is an exploration and an expression of what makes me happy, a contrast to my usual work. However, this is a topic that definitely has not halted here as future work, I believe, will be focused on this for the time being, or at least until I deem it fitting to once again delve into my usual nature of expressing deep, raw emotion and psychological issues in a physical three-dimensional form. My work also allows the viewer to peer into my own personality and emotional plane which I struggle to communicate otherwise.
